Today, they’re among Savannah’s most enthusiastic boosters. “When you choose a place for your business, you need a good talent pool, great colleges, and superb high-speed network infrastructure, which Savannah has in abundance,” Jim says.
However, “The best reason to be in Savannah is, it’s easy to incentivize smart people to move here because of the quality of life, which matters as much as the technology.”
Their life is enhanced by shared passions for soccer, surfing, motorcycle collecting and racing, the Savannah Music Festival, and science education.
She chairs and he is on the board of the Savannah Science Seminar, an education initiative that helps youngsters experience science in inspiring ways, such as exploring marine sanctuaries and building rockets and robots.
They have created scholarships awarded through sports clubs, which reward teens for academic, as well as athletic achievements.
“When you become involved in this incredible community, you can’t imagine living anywhere else,” says Jim. His wife agrees, and adds, “There’s really no other place quite like Savannah.”
