An international ingredients and consumer foods company has opened a facility in Savannah.
Kerry Ingredients & Flavours will employ approximately 100 people to sterilize and package food products from its plant in the SPA Business Park off U.S. 80.

During the inaugural meeting for the Southeastern United States (SEUS)-Canadian Provinces Alliance in Savannah June 14-17, the Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA) and Longueuil Economic Development (DEL) will sign a memorandum of cooperation on behalf of Metro Longueuil, Quebec, Canada and Metro Savannah, Georgia, US.

At the second meeting of their newly formed Advisory Board, The Creative Coast Alliance (TCCa) announced that Brynn Grant, currently Director of Marketing for the Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA), will take over the helm of the organization on June 25th. This appointment follows the brief tenure of Chuck Stallworth, who recently returned to Atlanta.

Savannah Mayor Otis Johnson signed a letter of intent to form a sister city relationship with Jiujiang in China’s Jiangxi province, a move that makes Georgia’s first such pact with China just a few formalities away.
The agreement inked by Mr. Johnson and Jiujiang Executive Deputy Mayor Zhao Dongliang was one of the final steps toward official approval.

The Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA) will host its 4th Annual Luncheon on Thursday, May 29th at 11:30 a.m. at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center. Advance reservations are required; seating is limited. The cost is $35 per person or $280 for a table of eight.

The Savannah Logistics Center, a 1 million-square-foot industrial complex off Pooler Parkway, has been sold to a Honolulu-based firm that will lease the larger of the two buildings on the property to a major toy manufacturer to use for logistics operations in the Southeast.

Five years ago today, the first Gulfstream G450 made its maiden flight. Departing from Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport, Gulfstream Chief Test Pilot John O’Meara and Senior Experimental Test Pilot Jake Howard put the large-cabin, long-range business jet through its preliminary paces. During the two-hour, 30-minute test flight, the G450 reached an altitude of 41,000 feet and a speed of 0.80 Mach, or nearly 581 miles per hour.
