The Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA) has been named a recipient of Site Selection magazine’s 2026 Mac Conway Award, recognizing SEDA among the nation’s top regional economic development organizations. This is the seventh time in the past eight years that SEDA has been honored with the award.
Named for Site Selection Founder McKinley “Mac” Conway, the annual award recognizes 20 regional economic development organizations across the United States. Winners are selected using an index that includes Conway Data/Site Selection corporate facility project, investment and job creation data, the 2026 Milken Institute Best Performing Cities Index, the 2025 Lightcast Talent Attraction Scorecard and Heartland Forward’s Most Dynamic Metros report.
The Savannah region was recognized for its continued economic momentum, driven by major investments across multiple industries and the strength of regional partnerships. In its announcement, Site Selection highlighted the ongoing impact of the Georgia Ports Authority’s Port of Savannah and Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, as well as growth occurring throughout communities across the region.
“The Savannah Economic Development Authority being named a recipient of Site Selection magazine’s Mac Conway Award the last seven of eight years is a testament to the strength and partnerships of our local governments, business community, educational institutions, utility partners, state leaders and so many others who work together every day to create opportunities for job growth and investment in the Savannah region,” said SEDA President and CEO Trip Tollison.
Site Selection magazine also noted that the region recorded 82 new projects involving $2.8 billion in capital investment and 3,105 new jobs in 2025.
