Most regions react to growth. Savannah builds for it.

Savannah is doing workforce development differently. Based on a 2023 regional workforce study, SEDA backed the founding of the Regional Industry Support Enterprise (RISE), the key facilitator for workforce development and industry support in a eight-county Savannah region.

RISE is a first-of-its-kind organization dedicated solely to closing the workforce gaps, expanding the labor pipeline and delivering customized workforce support to regional employers.

Attracting & Retaining Top Talent with a Constant Infusion of New Talent

Dedicated Regional Job Board & National Recruitment

The RISE Job Board is a customized regional recruiting resource designed specifically to connect employers with job seekers across the eight-county RISE region which includes Chatham County. The dedicated job board gives employers a targeted platform to promote open positions, increase the visibility of career opportunities and reach candidates who are looking to work in the region. By bringing regional job opportunities together in one centralized location, the RISE Job Board serves as a valuable extension of employers’ recruitment efforts and helps connect companies with the talent they need to grow and succeed.

And we aren’t waiting for talent to find us. We are actively taking the Savannah region’s story to skilled workers across the country through Succeed in Savannah, a targeted nationwide talent attraction campaign designed to showcase the career opportunities, quality of life and advantages of building a future in our region.

Through digital marketing, social media, targeted outreach and dedicated recruitment efforts, Succeed in Savannah is helping expand our talent pipeline by reaching workers well beyond our region and positioning Savannah as a destination for both career and lifestyle.

The result: Chatham County led the entire state of Georgia in net resident migration in 2025—demonstrating that people aren’t just discovering Savannah; they are choosing to move here.

The Military-to-Civilian Pipeline

Home to major military installations, the Savannah region receives a stream of highly trained, disciplined talent every single month.

  • 300+ transition-ready service members and spouses enter our civilian labor pool monthly.
  • Active Bridging Programs: We work directly with outgoing military personnel to translate their skills to civilian roles while helping local employers establish veteran-friendly hiring practices.

Early-Stage Pipeline & Education Builds the Next Generation

K-12 Innovation

We are creating pathways to careers long before students step off the graduation stage. By connecting students with employers, industries and career opportunities while they are still in school, we are helping them understand the range of high-demand careers available right here in the Savannah region—and the education, training and skills needed to pursue them.

Some of the specific programs include:

  • Industry Insiders: Brings young professionals in the classroom to share their personal career journeys.
  • RISE FWD: Connecting high school seniors to careers, education and program opportunities after graduation.
  • 8th Grade Experience: Engages students with industry professionals to explore career opportunities.

Higher Education & Training

Our 16 regional colleges and university partners work directly with industry to ensure programs are aligned with the real-world needs of employers. By identifying evolving skill requirements and workforce demands, colleges and universities can tailor existing programs and develop new curricula, credentials and training opportunities around the specific needs of industry—giving students the skills needed for in-demand careers while providing employers with a strong pipeline of job-ready talent.

Additionally, Georgia Quick Start, the number one workforce training program in the country, is a discretionary incentive providing customized, company-specific workforce training at no cost to companies investing in and creating jobs in Georgia.
